Royalty Analyst

EMPIRE is looking for a multi faceted Royalty Analyst to support the Royalties team. The ideal candidate will be an extremely detail-oriented person, who can handle the analyst duties listed below as well as anything thrown their way.
As a Royalty Analyst, you'll be assisting in developing the processes and infrastructure surrounding this growing department. We're looking for an experienced, organized and motivated analyst to contribute to our team. This is your opportunity to work with a fast-growing, down-to-earth company in the music industry.
Note: due to Covid this is a remote position for the time being but you will be expected to work in the San Francisco office when CA mandates permit us to go back to the office
What you'll be doing:
Review and analyze recording agreements, producer agreements and other similar agreements for the purpose of identifying and summarizing the applicable royalty rates, related terms and payee information for a given record or recording and then enter those terms into EMPIRE's artist royalty system
Perform various analyses for 3rd party royalty recipients
Assist with EMPIRE's monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes as needed
Create and maintain royalty accounts information for royalty recipients in EMPIRE's artist royalty system, including by updating the recipient's contact information and tax identification numbers as needed
Perform and review adjustments to existing royalty rate set-ups in EMPIRE's artist royalty system, as needed
Process and review monthly artist royalty statements to ensure the accuracy of both the royalty rates applied and the underlying earnings on which royalties are being paid
Ensure that royalty statements are issued in a timely manner
Research inquiries
Work with development team for system improvements
Collect and maintain publishing information
Handle invoice/cost review/approval workflow
Perform any other duties and tasks related to the Department's role and responsibilities that might be assigned by the Team's senior management from time to time.
Requirements:
Music industry knowledge preferred
Proficiency in MS Excel
Strong administrative skills
You understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion
A ''no job too small'' attitude
Ability to juggle multiple projects at a time and complete tasks fully through
Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
Work independently and in a team environment
You're not afraid to ask questions and learn as you work
You're extremely organized
Be a team player, open to feedback and strong communication.
Live in San Francisco area or willing to relocate
