Product Manager
EMPIRE is an independent label, born and grown out of the Bay Area. We have grown to become the largest independent record label in the U.S., with a significant global presence covering Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia and North and South America.
EMPIRE is looking for a multi-faceted, Product Manager to support the Marketing Department. The ideal candidate will be an extremely detail-oriented person, who can handle the Product Manager duties listed below as well as anything thrown their way.
As Product Manager, you'll work with the Product Management team promoting the EMPIRE artist roster through creative and innovative marketing strategies. We're looking for a motivated, organized and experienced Product Manager to contribute to our team. The Product Manager serves as a communication link between EMPIRE, label partners, managers, agents and others; communicating marketing initiatives, best practices and priorities for a given project. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to continue to develop their marketing career in the music industry by working at a top of the line record label and honing their skills.
What you'll be doing:
Plan, direct, organize, execute and control artist campaigns
Work effectively in the strategic planning of the projects
Create timelines for releases/campaigns
Create and maintain marketing budgets
Collaborate with and drive marketing efforts across all departments, including but not limited to social, PR, CRM, radio and commercial
Monitor success. Work to maximize revenues and earnings. P&L administration of the projects.
Research data within EMPIRE's information services for decision taking
Weekly one-sheets on projects (development of the project, radio, press, blogs, digital updates and key data)
Permanent search of New Business Development opportunities
Platform outreach and relationship management
Pitch releases for streaming service playlisting & other key partners
Provide marketing drivers for Commerce team
Direct and supervise exciting and effective creative to support the music and message
Develop and coordinate videos, artworks and other visual content
Develop innovative campaigns that engage fans utilizing pre-existing social platforms and new technologies
Manage the conception, communication and execution of consumer products and other marketing strategies
Build, maintain and assess external marketing partnerships
Consistently identify artist needs and ensure approaches and ensure solutions are linked to artist objectives
Actively monitor project risks, identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address them in advance
Communicate and document project status, including progress in each function
Any additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum 1-3 years of experience doing marketing in the entertainment industry
Experience breaking new artists with an understanding of current market conditions, trends and best practices
Music industry knowledge
Hip Hop / R&B music genre knowledge
Passion for Bay Area music and culture
Strong administrative skills
Must have the ability to write and convey marketing strategies to the teams within the label, as well as to management and the artist, bringing concepts to life
Understanding of traditional and digital media, including social and content streaming platforms
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
You understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion
A ''no job too small'' attitude
Ability to juggle multiple projects at a time and complete tasks fully through
You're not afraid to ask questions and learn as you work
You're extremely detail oriented
You're extremely organized
Be a team player, open to feedback and strong communication.
Live in San Francisco area or willing to relocate
