EMPIRE is an independent label, born and grown out of the Bay Area. We have grown to become the largest independent record label in the U.S., with a significant global presence covering Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia and North and South America.
The Director of Brand Partnerships is responsible for developing and managing strategic marketing partnerships with brands in order to generate incremental sales revenue and to create unique promotional opportunities on behalf of EMPIRE and our artist roster.
The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled creative problem solver and relationship builder, they will be extremely self-motivated, they will possess a vast knowledge of global brands and will have their finger firmly planted on the pulse of current trends in music, advertising, and culture.
You'll report directly to our VP of Global Partnerships, and primary duties will include identifying and sourcing lucrative opportunities across sponsorships and endorsements, experiential and live music events, digital and social media, merchandising, and original content.
What You'll Do:
Develop and maintain close relationships with key brand partners
Serve as an authority on EMPIRE and its roster of artists in order to effectively communicate company marketing priorities to prospective clients
Consistently meet and exceed marketing and revenue goals
Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including Marketing, Digital, Social, A&R, Product, and eCommerce
Trend forecasting and analysis
Weekly, monthly and quarterly sales and progress reports
Client prospecting, closing business, creative concept ideation, and account management
Participate in artist signings
Create pitch materials and lead new business presentations
Any additional duties as assigned
What You'll Need:
5+ years of experience in brand partnerships, strategic marketing, media, entertainment and/or business development; music industry experience a plus
Successful track record of closing deals
Existing strong relationships with agencies, brands, media, digital and other companies in related fields
Experience negotiating contracts
Ability to simultaneously manage several multifaceted creative projects with multiple external stakeholders
Experience in music licensing and bespoke music production
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work with internal and external design teams to develop world class presentation materials and marketing assets
Thrives in an extremely fast-paced, rigorous creative workplace
Ability to work collaboratively across groups
Strong written and verbal abilities
Extremely task and detail-oriented, while also being a ''big picture'' strategic thinker
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a must
Willing to travel
