EMPIRE is an independent label, born and grown out of the Bay Area. We have grown to become the largest independent record label in the U.S., with a significant global presence covering Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia and North and South America.
We are looking for a seasoned Videographer to direct, shoot and edit creative video content, while also being flexible to take on various film production roles when necessary. You will report directly to our Director of Content and work side by side with other members of our in-house creative video team.
The ideal candidate will be a self motivated and highly skilled creative with their finger firmly planted on the pulse of current trends in social media, music, and culture.
What You'll Do
Shape captivating stories on musical artists; from raw footage to polished videos
Film content such as artist interviews, performance recaps and original shows on location
Oversee other camera operators to verify shooting specs and footage consistency
Create basic set designs, sound recording and lighting setups
Assure all company gear is accounted for and ready to go for video productions
(All gear safely packed, Lenses cleaned, Batteries charged, Sufficient card space, etc)
Assist with location bookings and gear rentals for video productions
Fill in as director and pilot the talent and crew on set (when necessary)
Work with producers and editors to provide feedback on drafts until projects are complete
Collaborate with Director of Content with ideating new show concepts
Assist in supervising full projects from early stages in pre-production to final output in post
Design original graphics and title cards
Edit video clips, memes and trailers for social media marketing
Organize and catalog footage backups
What You'll Need
4+ years of shooting video content in a professional work environment
Strong content portfolio of various subject matters and mediums
Understanding of all roles and responsibilities in video production
Knowledge of video file codecs, formats and containers
Experience with media file management and media archiving
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to positively take direction and creative feedback
Thrive in an extremely fast-paced, rigorous creative workplace
Can work independently, as well as collaboratively with the creative team
Well grounded organizational and time management skills
Relative stamina to film for long hours (when necessary)
Can execute tasks in a timely manner to meet tight deadlines
Willing to travel and work flexible hours including nights and weekends (when required)
Ability to produce visual content with the company's voice, culture, and brand in mind
Would be a PLUS…
Experience with Adobe Applications such as Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and/ or After Effects
A degree in Video Production, Film Studies or related field
Experience recording with Cinema or Mirrorless Digital Cameras
Knowledgeable on Lighting techniques for Film
Skills in production audio recording and sound mixing
Experience on commercial productions and/ or music video sets
Keep up to date with industry news and trending music culture
