Fall Intern - Recording Studio

Commitment:
• Week of September 7th - Week of December 14th
• One to two days per week (flexibility on days)
Role Overview:
We're seeking a motivated, hands on Recording Engineer Intern who is currently enrolled in an audio engineering, music production, recording arts, or related program. This is an opportunity for a student who is eager to gain practical experience in a professional studio environment and develop their technical and production skills.
The intern will support day-to-day studio operations, assist with recording sessions and studio setup, and gain firsthand experience with the workflows, equipment, and processes involved in professional recording production. The ideal candidate is curious, dependable, detail-oriented, and genuinely passionate about audio and music production.
This internship is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on learning experience while introducing the intern to the inner workings of a professional recording studio.
• Gain real-world, hands-on experience working in a professional commercial recording studio
• Learn directly from experienced recording engineers and producers
• Gain practical knowledge of professional studio workflows, equipment, and recording techniques
• Opportunities to observe and assist with live recording sessions
• Occasional supervised access to studio downtime for hands-on training, experimentation, and learning
• Build technical skills and industry knowledge while developing your professional network
Responsibilities:
• Shadow recording engineers and producers to learn professional studio workflows and session practices
• Assist recording engineers and producers during studio sessions
• Set up and break down microphones, cables, instruments, and other studio equipment
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional studio environment
• Support basic equipment maintenance and troubleshoot routine technical issues
• Assist with session preparation, including room setup and equipment checks
• Greet clients and artists upon arrival and provide a welcoming, professional experience
• Support day-to-day administrative tasks, including booking calendars and client communication
• Assist with studio hospitality and run occasional errands as needed
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited program in audio engineering, music production, recording arts, or a related field
• Genuine passion for music, audio production, recording, or media
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a professional demeanor
• Basic working knowledge of DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or similar platforms
• Ability to take direction, ask questions, and learn from experienced engineers and producers
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented studio environment
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to assist with both technical and day-to-day studio tasks
• Dante Certification - Level 2 preferred
• Must be 18+ and eligible to receive school credit (if applicable)
