Job Description: Documentary production company EDGELINE FILMS is hiring a full-time Associate Producer in charge of development.
The job:
- Research new documentary series and films.
- Make contact and develop relationships with potential documentary subjects.
- Write pitches, outlines, treatments and decks.
About us:
- We're the team behind the the acclaimed Showtime series COUPLES THERAPY (featured on over a dozen critics' top ten lists for 2019) and feature documentaries THE FIGHT (Special Jury Prize winner at Sundance 2020) and WEINER (Grand Jury Prize winner at Sundance 2016 and shortlisted for the Academy Awards).
- We have numerous projects in various stages of development and production, in partnership with major distributors.
- We have offices in Brooklyn and LA.
- We're a veteran team with a tight collaborative bond dedicated to innovative, dynamic storytelling.
You need to be:
- Smart, articulate, kind, and hardworking.
- A curious and dogged researcher with a nose for gripping non-fiction stories.
- Outgoing, friendly, and unafraid to cold call a stranger.
- A punchy writer who understands narrative tension.
