Technical Producer
Position Overview:
We're seeking a Technical Producer for Almost Athletes to help steward the show across all phases of preparation and execution. Reporting to the Head of Podcasts, you will serve as the technical lead, balancing high-energy sports and entertainment capture with the operational discipline required for premium execution. This position blends technical oversight, field production, and operational coordination, with opportunities to contribute creatively over time.
The Technical Producer will help guide execution, support idea development, oversee pre-production and capture of social content for the channel, protect the brand, and ensure each episode reflects the energy, quality, and integrity our audience expects. This role is responsible for owning the technical execution of the podcast on a day-to-day basis, ensuring consistency, reliability, and quality across all recordings.
Initial Responsibilities:
Technical Production & Execution
• Lead and support multi-camera studio production
• Build, deploy, and operate remote podcast recording systems (Studio and Mobile Environments)
• Maintain high standards in lighting, camera, and audio quality across all recordings
• Exercise critical listening skills to ensure premium audio capture and consistency
• Manage technical workflows, signal flow, and recording redundancy systems
• Understand video and audio formats for delivery and publishing
• Coordinate closely with post-production on timelines and deliverables.
Field Production & Operations
• Record and produce out-of-studio segments (locations, permits, insurance, safety, vendors)
• Coordinate travel logistics and on-location production needs
• Assist in budget tracking and production planning
• Manage outside vendors and production partners
• Support delivery timelines and overall production schedules
Creative Support & Brand Stewardship
• Collaborate on segment ideation and episode structure as needed
• Communicate professionally with talent and guests
• Support art direction, props, wardrobe tracking, and brand integrations
• Oversee pre-production and capture of social content for channel
• Contribute to YouTube optimization and digital publishing strategy
• Help uphold the brand voice and family forward standards
Qualifications:
• Strong technical foundations in camera, lighting, and audio production
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere (Working knowledge) and Riverside
• Experience operating in both studio and field production environments
• Critical listening skills and strong technical awareness
• Experience managing vendors, logistics, and production workflows
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Confidence working with talent and fast moving production environments
• Willingness to travel
Preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in production, podcasting, or digital media
• Pro Tools Experience
• Familiarity with Blackmagic systems and OBS Studio
• Background in sports or entertainment content.
Location:
• This position is located onsite at the all-new HQ3 offices in Frisco, Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex). Remote candidates will not be considered for this position.
