Responsibilities
DreamWorks Animation Television seeks an Intern for their Music Department in Glendale, California. The Intern for the Music Department will gain knowledge of the music production process within television animation.
The Intern for the Music Department will be responsible for various office activities under the direction of the Music team. They will be assisting the Music Administrator to organize files and to prepare the submissions of cuesheets. They will also have the opportunity to shadow Music Coordinator(s) to gain a working knowledge of the music production process. Ideal candidates will be media savvy with knowledge of contemporary recording artists and/or film composers and their work. They will be willing to take on new challenges in order to develop a more detailed knowledge of the role of music within the animation television industry. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated, be team players who take initiative, have the ability to handle multiple requests, have a strong attention to detail, organizational skills and working knowledge of the Gmail suite and the Microsoft suite. The ability to transcribe music on Finale or Sibelius, perform simple music edits in ProTools, and/or familiarity with RapidCue is a plus.
Qualifications/Requirements
Must be working towards a bachelor's degree (or postgraduate degree) and currently enrolled in a four-year college or university.
Desired Characteristics
Candidates in their junior or senior year are preferred. Music Industry or Animation/Film/Media majors are preferred, but all candidates will be considered as long as they have interest in a career in the music industry. Unfortunately, DreamWorks Animation Television is not able to sponsor international students for internships.
