Interested in interning for DoLA's Content Department? You're in luck!
We're hiring interns who want to work with our local team on some really exciting projects coming up next quarter.
We are an equal opportunity employer. Diverse and unique experiences and points of view are vital for our continued growth. Whether it be race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity, we're proud to have a seat at the table for anyone looking to do stuff (get it?). with us.
What will you experience with an internship in DoLA's Content Department? A lot of hard work, a lot of fun, and a lot of learning.
PLEASE NOTE: We are prioritizing applicants who are looking to receive academic credit and are majoring in fields adjacent to digital marketing (i.e. Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism). This is an unpaid internship; however, it is designed to meet the educational and professional development needs of the intern. The role will provide hands-on experience and mentorship, helping you develop the skills required for a career in digital marketing and partnerships.
Perks:
We've got lots of them. Enjoy a ton of free concert and festival tickets, drinks, and food. Plus, you'll gain lots of learning experiences and have the opportunity to build new skills. And, of course, you'll be meeting tons of new people (especially in the music and entertainment spaces).
What To Expect:
DoLA works with some really cool music agencies, artist management teams, and large-scale music festivals across the country to line up partnerships and growth initiatives. You would help our local team execute these campaigns, as well as organic campaigns. This internship role will require an ambitious candidate with keen attention to detail. The candidate should be able to think creatively about social media strategy and organization, audience engagement, and consumer behavior. Interns have the opportunity to network and make a variety of exciting and useful contacts.
Job Requirements and Skills Needed:
Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week (ideally 15)
Strong passion for music, culture, and nightlife in LA
Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok. Bonus points for Google Analytics and Sprout Social!
Strong copywriting, content creation, graphic design, and editing skills.
Confident, creative thinker with the ability to speak up and contribute in a team environment.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized while working on multiple projects.
Strong understanding of marketing and/or digital audience engagement.
Some marketing experience or prior coursework is helpful.
21+ is always good, but open to all candidates over the age of 18.
The candidate should be looking to fulfill a college credit requirement. This is negotiable depending on other skills and experience if not seeking credit.
Responsibilities:
Creating, scheduling, and publishing social media posts
Drafting editorial posts
Supporting on-site content management (site updates, ads, curating events, etc.)
Copywriting for daily DoLA newsletter
Securing partners for giveaways
Overall administrative support to the DoLA Content Manager
