This is a casting internship for Hispanic market productions, so priority seeking someone fluent in Spanish. We are seeking recent students, graduates and beginning freelancers who intend to focus on the production side of the industry and want to learn through real casting experience. Looking for diligent and committed interns excited to be part of our family and industry, who work well with all personalities, have a confident attitude and good sense of humor. We favor organized folks who are exceptional with details and genuinely want to go into casting full time. Please share the level of Spanish fluency you are.
You will learn how to navigate Casting Networks (previously LA Casting). Let us know if you have any experience using this casting platform, but any level is fine as long as you're organized, love to explore, and a self-starter.
This starts asap (around 12/11/23) and wraps around 3/67/24 the latest. We are accepting full-time and part-time participation. Part-time interns are required a minimum of 2 days a week or 16 hours. Part time interns can graduate 3-4 months. If the intern participates full time, which is 4-5 days a week (32-40 hours), graduation can occur quicker (by June 24th), especially if we cast at least one project a week. Full time interns usually grasp the process quicker and can achieve employment within 1-2 months. There is no requirement to be hired by us at the end of the internship, and we can write a letter of recommendation to your employment of choice upon completion. We have a list of skills and tasks required to pass, though we also willingly work around your schedule too. Graduation varies based on your time commitment and expertise, and all our previous graduates have gone on to real production careers at exciting places globally.
Interns will participate in the entire process of casting SAG and non union projects from prep to wrap. You will learn how to navigate LA Casting / Casting Networks, and Breakdown Services. There will be lots of organization of data on spreadsheets, so Excel is a plus. Need strong communication skills with the team, on the phone and emails. You will be prepping documents, creating breakdowns, managing schedules, running auditions, wrangling talent, running camera, booking talent, turning in all required paperwork, and hopefully having fun doing so. Each project is unique, so creativity and problem-solving is part of the job.
There will be studio AND remote work, so you must have a smart phone, Mac laptop, your own vehicle, and some admin skills with Office and Google suite (Docs and Spreadsheets) to qualify. Some casting skills is a plus, but not mandatory. No experience is ok, too. We will meet you where you're at on all levels as long as you have drive and passion.
Currently, most of the work is remote at-home (95%), yet varies for each project. There will be conference calls and virtual meetings daily. However, on the occasion that our producers require live auditions, we do hold studio sessions at Envision Studios on Wilshire. We average 1 studio day a month, but may increase as mandates lift. Holding studio auditions is the space to harness our people skills, wrangle talent and obtain hands-on camera training. It is the best opportunity for incorporating technical skills navigating the hardware with the software (FastCapture, Eco Cast) and Zoom conferences with producers. For the most part, production has been relying mostly on self-tapes to save on budget. For features, we have been very active using Eco Cast live on Breakdown Express / Actors Access.
We do reimburse daily for lunches, gas and parking. We cover all expenses with receipts
