Job Summary:
Comprised of Disney's international media businesses and the Company's various streaming services, the Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment aligns technology, content and distribution platforms to expand the Company's global footprint and deliver world-class, personalized entertainment experiences to consumers around the world.
The Walt Disney Company's Direct-to-Consumer and International segment (DTCI) is a global, multiplatform media, technology and distribution organization for high-quality content created by Disney's Studio Entertainment and Media Networks groups.
DTCI includes Disney's international media operations and the Company's direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including the upcoming Disney-branded direct-to-consumer streaming service, the Company's ownership stake in Hulu, and the ESPN sports streaming service, programmed in partnership with ESPN. BAMTECH Media, developer of the ESPN and Disney-branded streaming platforms, oversees all consumer-facing digital technology and products across the Company as part of the Direct-to-Consumer and International segment.
The Compensation department leads the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs that support our domestic and international clients. This includes designing base salary and incentive plans and alternative rewards programs that are consistent with market trends, internal equity, a pay for performance philosophy and the company's business and HR priorities and strategies. This is a project hire role for a maximum of 18 months.
As part of the Direct to Consumer and International (DTCI) Compensation team, the Compensation Manager – Project Hire will bring significant expertise in the implementation and administration of compensation programs such as salaries, short and long-term incentives, and job evaluations that support the company's business strategy. The Compensation Manager – Project Hire also collaborates with compensation peers in each of the business segments on the implementation of centralized, harmonized, and seamless compensation support for functional organizations that span across multiple business segments. The Compensation Manager – Project Hire will assign and guide the work of a Project Hire Compensation Analyst
Responsibilities:
• Conduct compensation benchmark assessments; actively seek market intelligence and industry-specific data to inform appropriate solutions for assigned clients.
• Develop compensation proposals for newly promoted and newly hired employees (both executive and non-executive).
• Determine appropriate job level, salary grade, and FLSA classification for open positions and/or new positions.
• Collaborate with HR business partners and assigned clients in the creation of consistent job families.
• Assist in the set-up, delivery and support of the annual merit increase, bonus, and long-term incentive program and communication for assigned clients.
• Complete special projects as needed
Basic Qualifications:
• 7 years of relevant Compensation experience in a diverse business environment
• Consulting experience a plus
• Thorough understanding of compensation practices and trends
• Exceptional quantitative skills with a commitment to accuracy and details
• Strong analytical, project management and presentation skills
• Advanced Excel knowledge; SAP, Success Factors, Cognos and Microsoft Access experience a plus
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
• Strong aptitude for research, analysis and data management
• Ability to set priorities and manage multiple assignments
• Ability to work in a flexible, often ambiguous environment
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree - Human Resources, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, or Business degree preferred; or equivalent work experience
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred
