This is a Full Time Job
As the Director of Content Finance for Disney+, you'll lead a global finance team responsible for amortization forecasting, spend optimization, and management reporting across the Disney+ content portfolio. In this highly strategic role, you will partner closely with cross functional finance teams, and senior leaders serving as content expert and strategic advisor to help shape long-term content investments, drive efficiency, and translate complex financial insights into actionable strategies.
What You Will Do:
• Financial Planning & Forecasting
• Lead the delivery of forecasts, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and Long-Range Plan (LRP) for Disney+ content.
• Oversee amortization forecasting for all Disney+ content, including global originals and library.
• Consolidate and oversee detailed cash flow projections and P&L forecasts for content spend.
• Strategic Analysis & Executive Reporting
• Execute ad hoc analyses across the Disney+ portfolio to support senior leadership decisions.
• Identify investment optimization opportunities and provide actionable recommendations.
• Prepare and present executive-level materials, translating complex financial data into concise, strategic narratives.
• Proactively surface risks, opportunities, and trade-offs to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
• Monitor SVOD industry trends, competitive dynamics, and best practices to inform content finance strategy.
• Process & Tools Development
• Design, implement, and standardize processes for content finance reporting (e.g., metadata tagging, title-level accounting, greenlight tracking).
• Enhance and maintain financial reporting tools, dashboards, and models to scale with global content operations.
• Collaborate with Controllership to define and refine accounting structures, ensuring compliance and accurate content amortization treatment.
• Cross-Functional Partnership
• Work closely with Programming, Content Planning & Analysis, Creative, and Operations to align financial plans with creative strategy and business objectives.
• Partner with other finance teams across the organization
• Team Leadership & Development
• Hire, lead, develop, and motivate a high-performing team of approximately 8 finance professionals, including 2 Senior Managers.
• Set clear team goals, drive accountability, and foster a collaborative, innovative culture.
• Build capacity for strategic thinking, cross-functional partnership, and executive-level presentation skills within the team.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum 10 years progressive leadership experience in finance
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen
• Ability to interact and partner with all levels of management and stakeholders, specifically Senior Management
• Ability to provide a consultative approach with clients helping to drive business and financial decisions
• Ability to identify issues, generate and evaluate alternatives and implement solutions.
• Proactive and adaptive communication style, able to effectively communicate with people from various disciplines, organizations, geographic locations and management levels
• Ability to translate financial information to various business audiences to drive decision making
• Flexibility and ability to anticipate change and respond to client needs and priorities with agility
• Basic understanding of GAAP accounting
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in business or economics or MBA or CPA
