Spring Paid Intern - TV Broadcast Technology

Job Title: Broadcast Technology Intern, Spring 2026

Pay Rate: $22.50 per hour
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, January 2026 – June 2026

Overview
The WABC Technology team designs and maintains the broadcast, IT, and newsroom systems that enable WABC-TV to create and deliver news each day. In this internship, you’ll work with senior engineers and project managers to test new software deployments, develop training materials, and troubleshoot broadcast issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

* Assist engineers and production teams with broadcast, IT, and newsroom systems.
* Test new software deployments and support implementation.
* Develop and update training materials.
* Troubleshoot technical and broadcast issues as they occur.
* Observe production workflows and propose time-saving solutions.
* Support design engineers with equipment lists and logistics for studio projects.

Required Qualifications

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Familiarity with basic video production and television production workflows.
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Desire to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications

* Familiarity with broadcast production and distribution systems.
* Understanding of the network affiliate relationship model.
* Previous internship or work experience in television.

Education Requirements

* Junior- or senior-level standing.
* Major or coursework in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Video Production, or a related field.

Eligibility Requirements

* Enrolled in an accredited college or university taking at least one class at the time of application, or currently participating in a Disney Internship or College Program.
* At least 18 years of age.
* Unrestricted work authorization.
* Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.
* Able to maintain a consistent work schedule and provide own housing and transportation in the New York area.
