Publicity Coordinator (ABC News)
Job Summary:
ABC News is seeking a Publicity Coordinator to join our team! As the Publicity Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the publicity efforts for ABC News programming and talent. You will work closely with the publicity team to execute strategic campaigns that enhance the visibility and reputation of ABC News across various media platforms.
What You Will Do:
• Assist in publicity efforts for ABC News' programs and platforms including pitching and placing media, specifically for ''World News Tonight with David Muir,'' ''20/20,'' ABC News Live, ABC Audio, ABC Digital, Special Events, Breaking News and Politics
• Compile, edit and distribute daily press clips, weekly status reports.
• Post press releases/announcements/advisories to the Disney press room
• Lead ABC News Publicity social media accounts.
• Compile media lists; maintaining correspondents, anchor and executive bios annually;
• Assist awards submissions; processing invoices and payments; serving as the point of contact for payroll.
• Manage Vice President's calendar (includes scheduling meetings for the VP and the team, booking travel, handling phone calls
• Assist with press events.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Required Qualifications
& Skills:
• Minimum two years' experience in public relations, corporate communications, or related field.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, high-pressure news environment.
• Desire and dedication to tackle increasingly greater levels of responsibility.
• The ability to prioritize as well as multitask is extremely important.
• Professionalism and integrity a must.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Willingness to work overtime with short notice.
• Must work well under pressure.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Superior attention to detail.
• Ability to successfully coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Must be highly organized, detailed oriented, personable and a problem-solver.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Existing knowledge of the television business and industry experience.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $53,600- $73,700 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
