Production Associate, World News Tonight

ABC News is looking for a Production Associate, in New York, NY to join the World News Tonight team. We want someone to join our team who is inherently creative, embraces new technology and wants to experiment daily. A successful candidate will be highly motivated with a proven track record in the fast-paced, high-pressure newsroom environment. You will be a good fit if you are unfazed by constant deadlines and are a problem-solver. Candidates should possess excellent social skills and a strong work ethic.

What You Will Do:
• Production Associates are responsible for supporting producers in all aspects of production including: logging, coordinating feeds, researching video, stills and editorial information.
• Must be familiar with various media formats as well as library systems.
• Prior media management experience required.
• Camera and editing experience also required.
• Production Associate's will shoot elements for stories as well as rough cut or edit content!

Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a newsroom environment or similar.
• Proven ability and experience with rough cut editing.
• Strong editorial skills vital.
• Must be available to work flexible hours including mornings, nights and weekends.
• Must be able to perform duties under deadline.
• Strong organizational skills, able to meet deadlines, attention to detail, work well under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 or more years' experience in a newsroom environment.
• Strong curiosity about the editorial process highly desirable, as is the ability to generate original story ideas.
• Ability to edit packages on Avid.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university or equivalent years of experience.

The hiring range for this position in New York is $53,600- $73,700 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
