KGO - Meteorologist/Weather Anchor (Daily Hire)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an accredited meteorologist or experienced weather anchor to produce and present daily weather forecasts for newscasts, on digital and social platforms. The meteorologist/weather anchor will use weather software systems to create and present forecasts for various newscasts. This employee will also create forecasts for digital and social platforms and for the KGO-TV/ABC7 24/7 live stream.

This is a freelance/daily hire position. Shifts will be weekday or weekend mornings or evenings, depending on staff vacations.

This position is covered under SAG-AFTRA – KGO-TV Newspersons Agreement.

Responsibilities:
• Producing and presenting on-air forecasts
• Digital- writing and building graphics for forecasts, social media

Basic Qualifications
• Knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience reporting weather on-air.
• Candidates should have a solid resume reel showing superior on-camera presentation.

Required Education
• Bachelor's degree
• Meteorology degree

Preferred Certification:
• AMS Seal
