Manager, Music (Disney Branded Television)
Job Summary:
The Music Manager, Current Series & Original movies will be responsible for managing all facets of music embodied in Disney Channel and Disney+ streaming live action content. They will track all music through the process from demos to final delivery and soundtrack release. In addition, they will assist in creative research projects. Duties include working closely with all internal Disney Channel/Disney+ departments (Brand Management, Marketing, Parks, Residuals, Soundtracks) as well as the productions (Music Editors, Playback Operator, Production, Post Production, Talent) to provide all needed music elements. Responsibilities:
• Work closely with SVP and Executive Director of department to track and manage all music in all versions through the process from demos to final delivery and soundtrack release.
• Book recording sessions, ensure all tech equipment is available, manage file delivery, attend Zoom sessions.
• Provide all needed music stems and mixes to Playback operator on set, Post production, Music Editor, Marketing for campaigns, Parks and International
• Obtain final delivery from song Producers.
• Build soundtrack from final approved mixes, different from episode versions, vet all lyrics for label copy, provide publishing credits for label copy.
• Handle all Background Vocalist SAG-AFTRA paperwork, ensure all vocalist have approval to work and manage the paperwork (I-9, Station 12, Taft Hartley)
• Maintain up to date a list for all Background Vocals and Cast Vocals who sang on each song, for both series and DCOM's, to be submitted to Residuals for payment.
• Assist in finding source music for series and original movies
• Compile weekly charting songs (list & music) and up-and-coming artist(s)
• Additional administrative duties related to the role.
Basic Qualifications:
• 4 + years of related music experience within film/tv music departments or freelance music supervision experience.
• Paid work experience booking recording sessions, ensuring all tech equipment is available, and managing file delivery.
• Proficiency with Box, Excel, ITL, MS Office, Zoom.
• Must live within a commutable distance of Burbank, CA, position is onsite.
Required Qualifications:
• Experience with SAG/AFTRA paperwork
• Ability to prioritize a high-volume workload .
• Detailed oriented
• Ability to engage with high level internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of kids' audience
Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $70,000.00 to $93,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
