Every region of the world is touched by climate change. From hotter temperatures, to rising seas, to stronger hurricanes, we are watching it impact our lives every day. Having a strong team dedicated to identifying, contextualizing, creating, and driving ABC News' coverage of climate change is critical. We are in search of a Coordinating Producer to lead our Climate Unit, the team reporting climate change stories across all ABC News platforms.
What You Will Do:
We are looking for a driver of editorial content and a creative producer who can direct coverage of climate change around the globe, including breaking news events and oversee the coordination of long-range events for all ABC News platforms. The Coordinating Producer will act as the editorial point across the network on climate stories and larger climate change projects; and will effectively communicate across the network to assign appropriate resources to each platform's needs.
Basic Qualifications:
• 10 plus years experience working in a newsroom with strong editorial skills
• Demonstrated interest/experience reporting on climate and weather stories
• Proven ability to manage, lead and inspire a team
• Established awareness of audience interest in climate-related stories
• Outstanding communication skills
• Strong ability to problem-solve and multi-task, coordinating multiple responsibilities simultaneously
• Experience working in a very fast-paced work environment
• Proven ability to work well with the larger newsroom team
Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, or possess related experience

The hiring range for this position in New York is $138,000- $189,700. per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
