What You Will DoHulu's Content Partnerships team is seeking an exceptional Senior Associate to support Film licensing and strategy. Reporting to the Content Partnerships Manager, you will play a critical part in the content acquisition process, with day-to-day responsibilities including but not limited to:
• Tracking and evaluating content opportunities.
• Defining programming strategy through rigorous data analysis.
• Reviewing performance across film categories (e.g., partnerships, genres).
• Operationalizing closed agreements.
• Managing ongoing deals and partner relationships.
We're looking for someone who can blend quantitative output with a strong subjective filter to create actionable insights, with dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively drive change - all at a breakneck pace.
Core Responsibilities
• Support the development and communication of content strategy internally and externally, using data to drive key business decisions and optimize the Film portfolio.
• Build, own, and evolve complex financial models to support deal negotiations, portfolio planning, and ongoing efficiency tracking across key performance metrics.
• Contribute to strategic relationships with content partners and support the negotiation of complex licensing deals.
• Manage all aspects of deal execution, including contract drafting and ongoing deal management in cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Scheduling, Finance, Operations, Product, and Legal stakeholders.
• Complete long-term and ad-hoc projects, including competitive analysis, to support Film strategy and the overall Hulu programming slate.
• Track Film projects for potential licensing opportunities and provide written feedback on finished Films and scripts.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience at a major media company, top-tier consulting firm, or investment bank.
• Strong interest in and/or experience with Film content across traditional and emerging media, with a keen understanding of industry trends and the 'why' behind it all.
• Advanced, ''Graduate-level'' proficiency in quantitative analysis, Excel, and building durable financial models that serve as ongoing decision-making tools.
• Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated track-record of presenting insights and influencing decision-making for relevant stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Exceptional attention to detail and process management.
• Strong business judgment and proven strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, prioritizing and handling multiple projects concurrently, often with minimal supervision.
• Finely-honed sense of humor and willingness to participate in lively debates.
• A demonstrated interest in the Film industry and its key players.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience in the Film industry, particularly in content strategy or licensing.
• Proven experience in financial modeling and analysis with complex data sets.
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study from a top-tier, accredited university.
Additional Information
• This role is based in the Santa Monica office 4 days a week from Monday through Thursday and flexibility to work from home on Friday.
