Job Summary:
We're looking for a TX & On-Air System coordinator on a permanent contract to join the Disney Channel team in the Hammersmith head office.
The role:
• Playlist support for technical & graphics queries from the LOB
• Creation and management of all templates, scenes and rules required for all Vertigo driven channels.
• Continue support\back up for XD Poland using Pixel Promo whilst still used.
• Fully understand existing technologies and equipment that support existing business workflows.
• Assist the TX & On-Air Supervisor in the management of re-brands, upgrades and new installations, in conjunction with the LOC service provider and other third parties for all Graphical driven elements.
• Day to day liaison for all Operational Presentation & On-Air teams on issues relating to playlist delivery, dynamic branding & on-air requirements.
• Manage the expectations and support requirements of the BTV lines of business relating to existing business technology and infrastructure
• First point of contact for playlist and graphics issues with external platforms.
• Cover as required for the TX & On-Air Systems Supervisor
Areas of responsibility:
• Work on any requests from LOB's surrounding graphical upgrades and changes and feed back to the TX & On-Air team to make sure the LOC operations department delivers the required service to the BTV lines of business.
• Build a good working relationship with LOB and 3rd Party Provider staff so that any issues are identified at an early stage and dealt with swiftly.
• Keep abreast of all key broadcast industry technical standards and see these are incorporated into Disney specifications where appropriate.
• Day to day interface with 3rd Party Platforms, to provide a solid technical service across all playlist and graphical areas
• Undertake project work as required by the LOB's including technical and operational evaluations of new graphical systems, automation systems or operational practices.
• Assist the LOB's with the all requirements to provide off-air recordings
• Work to support the LOB's requirements for On-Air rebrands and upgrades across all areas. Responsible for sourcing all off-air recordings required for Regulatory bodies across EMEA
Experience & Professional Qualifications:
• Proven experience within a Broadcast Environment
• Previous Graphics experience would be useful but not a requirement
• The post holder should be educated to at least ''O'' /GCSE level, with passes in English Language and Mathematics and one other science (or have equivalent proven work experience).
• Education to HND / Degree level or evidence of vocational management and skills training courses highly desirable.
Skills
required:
• The post holder will have proven operations position experience within a television broadcast or broadcast facilities and be conversant with a wide range of technical terms, concepts, equipment and procedures relating to the field.
• Demonstrable experience of turn-key project management, 3rd party liaison and interface.
• Proven advanced computer literacy and basic broadcast engineering knowledge essential.
• Proven knowledge of library and media asset management / content management systems, workflow and resource management systems is essential; also knowledge of scheduling and transmission automation systems is required.
