Sr. Manager - Research (Cultural Consumer Insights-DCWW)
Job Summary:
Disney Channels Worldwide has a global portfolio of over 100 kid-driven, family-inclusive entertainment channels and/or channel feeds available in 169 countries/territories, in 35 languages. The Disney Channels Worldwide Consumer Insights team is seeking a Senior Manager to help grow our Culture Insights practice.
The Senior Manager - Research will be joining a best-in-class Insights team that is forward-thinking, innovative, and engaged in understanding and communicating the evolving entertainment landscape. The Senior Manager will be responsible for key audience and culture insights that will impact all platforms, brands, content, and communications efforts within DCWW.
Responsibilities:
• Develop strategic insights about our brands and audiences and communicate those across the organization
• Lead new projects in our proprietary online panel of kids and families, including field plans, survey design, data analysis and reporting; oversee projects being led by Managers and Analyst, and the research teams at the panel provider
• Generate topical insight pieces about current and future trends and culture which keep the business informed about youth audiences and the world they live in
• Innovate new methodologies and best approaches to uncover insights
• Develop and create relationships with new vendors and agencies; lead and direct the work of those vendors
• Utilize all available proprietary, public and syndicated research to inform and educate internal teams on select topics
• Attend and manage qualitative research sessions (ethnographies, IDIs, focus groups), including summarizing and debriefing research findings; including moderating
• Write and issue trend reports for DCWW Consumer Insights team
• Collaborate across the larger Insights team to infuse culture insights into existing projects
Basic Qualifications:
• Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in consumer insights, brand consulting, or other related field; ideally candidate would have 2 years direct experience consulting on brands
• Experience and high familiarity with a variety of consumer insights methods (both qualitative and quantitative)
• Confident and self-motivated; able to own projects and execute them at a high level
• Passion for storytelling and strong interest in culture and innovation
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening); comfortable engaging with Sr. Executives
• Exceptional organization and project management skills
• Collaborative and inclusive, able to work across a variety of teams and skill sets
• Skilled at data visualization and creating impactful presentations and deliverable
• Domestic travel and evening research attendance required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in entertainment and/or youth media or culture is a plus
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
