Job Summary:
ABC News Radio is hiring a Vice President, General Manager.
The VP/GM will lead a 24/7 multiplatform audio news operation directing a team of highly professional and committed journalists, news operations managers and business development executives working with the global resources of ABC News and the broader Walt Disney Company to create new and unique audio news and information content and programming that engages and informs listeners across traditional broadcast radio as well as digital devices, smart phones and satellite channels.
Responsibilities:
• Lead a team that produces regularly scheduled 24/7 news programs, breaking news coverage, feature entertainment and lifestyle segments as well as develops original content for broadcast radio, podcasts and other sources of digital distribution.
• Collaborate with the senior program executives across ABC News to grow the reach and commercial potential of our most valuable and trusted brands including Good Morning America, World News Tonight with David Muir, Nightline and 20/20 among others.
• Lead the affiliate sales team in setting strategy to grow audience and manage affiliate relationships; will work with key external partners to create unique integrated sales vehicles for its advertisers by leveraging the brands and personalities of the Walt Disney Company; will oversee business development strategy to identify and develop new avenues of revenue.
• Create the highest quality ABC News content and will have a deep understanding of both the existing and developing news and information audio content marketplace.

Basic Qualifications:
• At a minimum, the VP/GM should have at least ten years of experience in journalism, news and information content production and business management.
• Demonstrated experience identifying and managing the highest quality news information content while maintaining the highest editorial standards
• Demonstrated ability to exploit and grow a vibrant sustainable audio news and information brand in what has been and will continue to be an evolving, disruptive and extremely challenging competitive market environment.
• A demonstrated leader with an entrepreneurial, risk-taking mind-set who is also able to effectively manage a team of highly motivated creative professionals in a supportive and inclusive work environment and culture.
• Deep passion for creative forms of storytelling and the future of news media.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills which will enable the VP to interact with a range of personalities and styles and establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization; have a problem-solving approach; be highly self-motivated, well-organized and have a strong work ethic.
