This is a Full Time Job
Part of the team responsible for the generation of the Network Program Schedules and the corresponding Television Broadcast Logs for all linear network feeds on a daily basis via the Operative Traffic, Log and Billing system. This position will be accountable for the accuracy of data entered into this application which is tightly integrated with the automation play-to-air systems. Must ensure that the metadata used to instruct and inform downstream mission critical systems is accurately input into traffic thus enabling the correct content is aired. Strong leadership qualities are necessary as this position will be responsible, in conjunction with Network Release Supervisors, for decisions that could affect the on-air product. Must be able to work under deadline pressure and rotating shifts and have the ability to quickly adapt to new processes. This position is integral to the creation of and transition to new Cloud Play-out related operational procedures, however will simultaneously support the legacy Log/Air operation.
Responsibilities:
Mission critical aspects of this position are:
• Responsible daily for creating, updating and distributing program telecast schedules and their associated Television Network Broadcast logs for all linear network program feeds
• Create, input and manage broadcast program schedule data (primary and secondary events) in the Operative OnAir Traffic system, which feeds the automation and e-log systems.
• Work on future TV network schedules/broadcast logs as wells as provide support in the deadline pressure environment of the Broadcast Operations Center by overseeing the near-live air updates and finalizing on-line traffic schedules feeding automation
• Oversight and accountability for accurately prepared telecast schedules as well as all critical operational instructions and metadata appearing in the broadcast logs
• Support a dual workflow by determining which elements are to be sent only to new automation via BXF vs. export to legacy translator. This labor intensive process is required as long as both the legacy and Imagine automation workflows are being supported (i.e. 'shadow').
• Adjust schedule elements in the OnAir schedule to ensure each program runs to frame-accurate time; assign media/asset file to program schedules to instruct automation which file to play to air; determine and apply event 'start modes' to each event in the program schedules to instruct automation play back behavior; allocate and input the VersioCloud channels (new automation system) that will be used to play out each program
• Schedule and adjust the off-set times for all secondary events within operational guidelines. Secondary event data is also part of the program schedule that is feeding automation for playback to air.
• Coordination with various departments including but not limited to Network Release, Media Strategy & Planning, Acquisition & Ingest, Program Managers, Sales/ESPN Sales, Affiliate Relations & Telecommunication to ensure information in the OnAir system is correctly transmitted to the downstream mission critical systems (automation, Watch & VOD, AsRun files, etc.) relying on this data
• Input routing and channel switching information and instructions for all 3 regional feeds, special feeds, sectional and regionalized commercials and promotion; conducting to ensure accurate outgoing program feeds
• Confirm all data is accurately represented in the elog application, which is used by all studio personnel to ensure all scheduled elements air as expected
Preferred Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
