Sr. Manager Music Programming (Radio Disney/Radio Disney Country)
Job Summary:
The Radio Disney Network seeks a highly organized and detailed individual to support the Vice President, Music Strategy - DCWW and General Manager, Radio Disney Network to support, oversee and implement Radio Disney's music programming, label, artist, management and talent booking strategies consistent with Disney Channels Worldwide (DCWW) and The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) brand visions.
Radio Disney is a 24-hour contemporary hits and country music network and the only broadcast radio destination that provides a dedicated full-service, multi-platform, engaging family audience experience. The network broadcasts across multiple digital, satellite, and terrestrial platforms as well as provides streaming playlist programming to the following, but not limited to, Sirius/XM, the iHeartRadio App, Spotify, Apple Music, the Radio Disney App as well as many others. Internationally, Radio Disney is also available throughout most of South Americas and Mexico via separate terrestrial broadcast. Radio Disney is part of the Disney Channels Worldwide family.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in identification of relevant, appropriate, broadly diverse music and artists for airplay on Radio Disney and Radio Disney Country for multi-platform playlists.
• Support, build and maintain music industry relationships with labels, artist management, artists and agencies that advance business interests.
• Responsible for oversight of music flow, tempo, and feel of Radio Disney and Radio Disney Country daily on-air music scheduling as well as any feature or specialty programming.
• Responsible for analyzing weekly listener song data including requests, MediaBase charts, streaming, artist social engagement, music video views, Shazams, and any other relevant research insights in order to compile, create and distribute weekly Radio Disney and Radio Disney Country 'Top 50' charts.
• Make talent recommendations and support bookings for any programming or other priority network requests (e.g. artists for local performances/concerts, special event music playlists, etc.).
• Ensure music lyrics comply with Disney 'general audience' standards, consult with BS&P whenever needed, and direct label edits when necessary.
• Liaison with Disney XLOB music partners, including Disney Channel, Disney Music Group, ABC, Freeform, Disney Parks, Disney Digital Network, etc. as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a record label, radio station, talent/casting agency or similar position
• Previous experience managing direct reports and external relationships
• Knowledge of Windows PC OS and Microsoft Office
• Outstanding communication skills and a team player
• Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated with a high level of energy, initiative, passion and commitment for their work
• Ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities and work well under pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a record label, radio station, talent/casting agency or similar position
• Proficient in Zetta and/or G Selector
• Strong interest in the tween Pop and Country music space, media and working knowledge of the Disney brand
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience
