The ABC Studios Department negotiates and drafts agreements for above-the-line talent (producers, writers, directors and casting directors) for network and cable television programs and provides support for the series and ancillary activities.
Responsibilities
A day in the life…
• Participating in many different projects such as organizing and maintaining a chart of alternative agreement gives/language
• Updating the domestic distribution chart and establishing a database of digital rights agreements with dynamic updating
• Creating and updating digital rights provisions and language database and comparing and contrasting ABC network digital rights agreements against Cable Network Groups (CNG) and Disney ABC Domestic Television (DADT) digital rights agreements.
Basic Qualifications
What you bring to the role…
• A focus in entertainment law and/or completed several entertainment related classes (e.g., contracts, intellectual
property).
• Media/entertainment/studio/network experience
• A strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Proven strong organizational skills
As well as...
• All candidates must be eligible to work in the US
• All candidates must be at least 18 years old
• All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship
• All candidates must be available from January to May
• All candidates must be willing to work 30 hours/week
• All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
• All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong interest in Television and the Entertainment Industry
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Required Education
• All students must be pursuing a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree and currently enrolled at an accredited law school
• All students must be in their 2L or 3L year at the time of the internship
