Job Summary:
The responsibilities of a Sales Planner are to manage deals and inventory from proposal to billing to post-analysis. Sales Planner will be a critical component of a successful sales team through ongoing management of an Account Executive's book of business, with increasing sales responsibilities as assigned based on tenure and expertise.
Responsibilities:
• Build digital sales proposals, pitch, and develop relationships with accounts based on established criteria, (e.g., Key Accounts and New Business)
• Create and analyze Upfront and Scatter News, Daytime, Syndication and Latenight sales proposals
• Leverage the ABC Digital portfolio across all platforms/devices that span across ABC, ABC News, GMA on Y!, ABC on Hulu, YouTube ABC Channels, and others to develop custom, multi-platform and cross-ABC digital partnerships and revenue
• Coordinate, execute, and maintain TV and digital campaigns for portfolio/key accounts
• Build media plans which adhere to the ABC rate card policies
• Maintenance of deals in internal sales systems like Freewheel, CPO (Commercial Proposal Optimizer), SCS (Sales Contract System) and digital web-based systems [Atlas/MediaVisor] for agencies
• Handle allocations, client moves and sponsorships as well as negotiate pre-emptions
• Manage Stewardship needs and ensure client satisfaction
• Oversee execution of each campaign/proposal at client, management and AE level
• Work with other internal departments (i.e., Sales Service, Broadcast Standard & Practices, Billing) to ensure proper execution of proposals at all levels
• Assist Account Executive on sales presentations to client
• Work with Planning management to compile and generate internal revenue reporting
• Guide Sales Assistants with day-to-day responsibilities
Basic Qualifications:
• 1 year of experience in media and/or media planning experience
• Demonstrate proficiency in media math and analysis
• Ability to manipulate data for analysis and presentation
• Ability to learn all computer related functions/systems
• Ability to work independently as well as be a team player
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Exceptional organizational and prioritization abilities
• Must be client service driven
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Freewheel, Atlas, MediaVisor, iDesk and CPO (Commercial Proposal Optimizer)
Required Education
• BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant experience.
