Job Summary:
The Operations Manager oversees the operations of the NNS (Network News Service), including technical systems, editing systems, transmission booking, IT systems, and other NNS technical needs.
Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the technical infrastructure of NNS, hardware and software, as well as the Media Desk (Satellite Desk). The infrastructure includes PCs, broadcast equipment, telco, video, and data lines, non-linear video recording and editing systems (like SSL Gravity), and story management software (ENPS). The Operations Manager is also responsible for managing relationships with IT and broadcast system managers at our Partner networks, and how NNS systems integrate with the Partner systems. The Manager is also responsible for Operations and Capital funding proposals and budgets for the General Manager, and oversight and reconciliation of Transmission costs incurred by NNS with the Partner networks and outside vendors.
Basic Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience managing broadcast, IT, and non-linear editing systems. At least 5 years of experience in management and scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 8 years of experience in the above, plus budgeting experience.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
