Manager, HR Business Partner (Television Animation)

We are searching for the next Manager, HR Business Partner for Disney Television Animation (DTVA). In this role, you will partner with DTVA studio leadership and management to create organization and talent plans that achieve business results and further strengthen the culture. You will partner with production leadership in identifying opportunities to enhance employee engagement across the various production.
Responsibilities
• Build relationships across functional groups/studio; develop and maintain effective relationships and communication channels with diverse stakeholders to build support for and participation in talent strategy initiatives.
• Establish in depth understanding of the business and priorities to identify org and talent opportunities and recommend potential solutions that further drive results and/or strengthen the culture
• Provide thought partnership to leaders at all levels, anticipating the business cycles and serving as a consultant through periods of change management.
• Understands the television industry and business in order to provide strategic business partnership
• Consult with leaders on organizational design, retention strategies and process improvements that would further productivity within teams, across the studio and as part of the larger business unit.
• Serve as a coach for management through any challenging performance and communication issues that may arise on their teams
• Leverage existing data, metrics and insights to support recommendations and help leaders make informed talent and organization decisions
• Develop and execute a lifecycle approach to talent management by assessing organizational performance and recommending solutions to close org and talent gaps, in addition to dedicated focus on succession and development plans for top talent.
• Develop thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in talent attraction, development and retention
• Manage day-to-day employee relations issues, including escalation to Employee Relations partners
• Collaborate with other areas of HR across The Walt Disney Company to align work and implement programs that support the business and further enhance the employee experience.
• Analyze employee data (engagement data, surveys, leadership feedback, etc.) to spot trends and analyze patterns; make recommendations to enrich employee experience and leadership effectiveness.
Basic Qualifications
• Possess 8 years of human resources experience
• Strong consultative skills and ability to influence
• Ability to function autonomously
• Ability to think strategically and navigate matrix environments
• Credible, proactive and trusted thought-partner who has built relationships and delivered results
• Ability to thrive within ambiguity and drive complex projects
• Strong organizational and problem solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
• Excellent analytical skills, ability to interpret data, identify trends and recommend solutions
• Foundational knowledge and application of federal and state employment laws
Preferred Qualifications
• Expertise in providing support to creative client groups
• Experience working in a union environment
• A strong understanding of the entertainment industry: including knowledge of the production environment within animation/games/vfx industry(s) a plus
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree in Business, HR Management or equivalent
Preferred Education
• Master's Degree in a related field or MBA
