Coordinating Producer (ABC News Digital)
Job Summary:
ABC NEWS DIGITAL has an opening for COORDINATING PRODUCER, VIDEO. We are looking for someone who is extremely creative and experienced. This role calls for someone who has a passion for storytelling, an urge to produce creative content and a desire to be at the forefront of digital video broadcasting. As a leader on the ABC News Live team, they will help shape the way in which we cover news, take advantage of the ABC News content, and create compelling new shows and segments.
Responsibilities:
The Coordinating Producer, Video will oversee production of edited video content for ABC News Live, our 24/7 news stream. The CP will work with the digital video team on the creation of and content selection for ABC News Live original taped programs, including This Day in History, Best of the Last 24, From the Vault. He/she will also coordinate with VOD and digital video teams to determine the best ABC News content to use in news pods throughout the day.
Further, this position will be responsible for pitching and piloting new original programs and content. This will likely include production of a daily VOD news show for distribution on some digital platforms – managing a production team, creating efficient workflows and ensuring editorial/production quality. The coordinating producer will work with Newsgathering to secure participation from correspondents in the field, the social team to meet daily posting deadlines and to engage audience, and the broader digital team to ensure promotion and collaboration.
Additionally, the Coordinating Producer will oversee hourly headlines production, managing the headline teams, their workflow and the editorial/production quality of the headlines.
The Coordinating Producer will be responsible for ensuring continuity for all of the above. They will report to the EP, Content and Head of Programming, ABC News Live
Basic Qualifications:
• All candidates should have extensive production experience and excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A willingness to work different shifts, as needed, and thrive under daily deadline pressures
• A minimum of 5 years of experience
• Communication skills (written and verbal) – ability to effectively communicate and interact with people at various levels and in various disciplines of business and production
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree (TV/Film/Journalism or related field) or equivalent work experience
