Job Summary
* Magnolia is flexible with the employee living in Austin but time in the Waco office will be required.
Responsible for building and leading the digital team for the Magnolia Joint Venture. The digital team is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive digital plan across site, social and direct-to-consumer that will build audience, affinity and monetizable opportunities for the Magnolia Network brand.
Responsibilities
The VP of Digital will lead a media-savvy team of brand evangelists in close coordination with peers across the JV and the Magnolia business to represent Magnolia Network on all digital platforms. This includes:
1. Hire and lead a team consisting of a social media manager, site editor/programmer and coordinator to help build and support this unique brand
2. Create and nurture a close relationship with JV and Magnolia partners in order to align and create a unified expression of the brand experience
3. Identify or define best processes both within the digital group and in relation to partners for achieving optimum quality over high quantity
4. Understand and apply all data inputs (digital and linear research, social media input, follower growth, etc.) to identify both opportunities and risks for the brand and respond to both
5. Work in daily partnership with programming, marketing and PR to support and amplify efforts as well as identify efficiencies
6. Define and execute best practices for supporting shows and other content with video, articles, photography and other media types
7. Create and support a culture of flexibility, creativity and excellence in all work
8. Keep the overall goals for the brand (both hard and soft goals) as defined by brand leadership at the forefront of digital efforts
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree as a minimum
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills
• Capacity to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work collaboratively with team members
• Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
