The Training Manager, Ad Sales Operations & Development will work with the Director of Ad Sales Operations & Development on training and overseeing day-to-day workflow of the Sales Planners and Sales Assistants. The purpose of this role is to provide substantial leadership support to ensure that the company’s Sales Planners and Sales Assistants are hired, trained, and supported in the most effective manner to support the Ad Sales department’s business and career growth. This role will work across the Discovery portfolio supporting the following networks: HGTV, ID, Animal Planet, DIY Network, Food Network, TLC, OWN, Cooking Channel, Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, Science & Motor Trend Network.
Responsibilities
1. Manage daily responsibilities and workload of Sales Planners as needed in close partnership with the Director as needed
2. Conduct professional development courses and programs for the Sales Planners, such as Media Math and Ad Sales 101
3. Manage desk transition meetings with Account Executives and Sales Planners
4. Act as a systems expert for testing and IT updates
5. Conduct Post Training for all newly promoted Sales Planner across all regions
6. Assist Director with Planner Bootcamp and other various training initiatives
7. Act as the liaison between ASOD & Human Resources for the Ad Sales Leadership Academy Training program
8. Other duties as assigned
Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
* 5-7 years of experience in an Ad Sales environment as a Sales Planner and Sales Assistant
* Possess ability to develop workflow systems and create team efficiencies
* Must be a strategic thinker
* Ability to remain highly organized and prioritize tasks effectively to meet the needs of a business
* Ability to work collaboratively and build trust across all levels of an organization
* Ability to work with ad sales management and develop partnerships with Comm Ops, SSS and other Ad Sales constituent groups to work towards common goals
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
* Traveling is required: 50% of the time
