Responsibilities
The Job
As a member of the Direct-to-Consumer Product UX Research team, the UX Research intern will assist with conducting innovative research supporting the user experience of new video streaming services. User research insights fuel the design and development process to ensure a useful, usable, and delightful entertainment experience for our viewers. Interns will work closely with the UX Research staff and product teams to infuse user empathy and perspectives throughout the product development lifecycle.

• 1:1 Mentorship: You’ll be assigned a mentor for the duration of the program to ensure you get off to a flying start and continue to meet your development goals throughout.
• Tech Speaker Series: You’ll frequently learn about new technologies and trends and meet and learn from some of the most talented technologists in the industry, both internal and external to Warner Bros. Discovery.
• Career Coaching: You’ll receive tailored career advice and guidance from experienced data experts, and leaders who have been where you are, and will share how they have successfully navigated their careers.
• Global Exposure: Most of our teams and products have global impact, meaning often our interns are working on projects that impact multiple markets. This provides you with unique insight into solving problems at scale, the nuances between markets and how we leverage technology to provide seamless and consistent quality across our customer experience globally.
• Global Network: By the end of the program you’ll have built a global network of talented Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists and Analysts, Product Designers, Marketeers and business leaders. What you need to know about the DTC Summer 2023 Program Application Process:
• Our Summer 2023 internship program is 11 weeks long, commencing June 5th - August 18th.
• Our internships are paid opportunities. Credit is not required; however, we will provide documentation if necessary.
• The?application deadline is November 30th.? After this date, we cannot guarantee your application will be reviewed for the position.
• We do not require a cover letter. Please demonstrate your passion for the position through your resume.
We are interviewing through Fall 2022. A Warner Bros. Discovery Intern team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the UX Research staff and product teams to assist with planning and conducting remote qualitative research studies. This includes, but is not limited to: research study design, remote study coordination, moderating study sessions, data analysis, and working with teams on implementing study findings. Studies will involve methodologies such as usability testing, in-depth interviews, surveys, card sorting, tree testing, and competitive analysis.
• Dive into emerging UX topics to uncover user perspectives and best practices for video streaming to inform the design process.
• Contribute to developing new methods and techniques for remote research.
• Pitch in where needed, on this highly collaborative, high functioning team!
Qualifications
In addition to academic qualifications, we’re looking for interns who are always curious and have a desire to learn. You’ll need to have great attention to detail, but with a great sense of agility and scope.
• Completed coursework in user research methods and testing
• Pursuing a degree or academic work in UX Research, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, or a closely related field
• Academic or industry familiarity with research methods such as usability testing, in-depth interviews, diary studies, and competitive analysis
• Passion for media streaming services a huge plus (e.g. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Disney , Paramount , Spotify, etc.)
• Proficiency with remote study tools (e.g. usertesting.com, Qualtrics, FigJam, Optimal Workshop)
• Agile/growth mindset, curiosity about users, passion for great design,
