Development & Production Internships -Summer 2022 (Hybrid)
Overview
This summer our Internship Program will be a hybrid program. A hybrid program means interns will be expected to come into their designated office location about 3 times a week. All internships will be hybrid unless explicitly stated as a remote opportunity.
(This Hybrid opportunity is located in Los Angeles).
Opportunities you could be considered for may include (but are not limited to):
Responsibilities
TLC Development Intern: TLC Development is responsible for developing over 500 hours of original series, specials, and events for the network annually, making this a fast-paced internship that will teach you we turn an idea into a viable TV show.
Intern will participate in all aspects of program development: research, talent outreach & development, writing & editing treatments & tapes for internal development ideas. Intern will join pitch meetings with Producers and participate in development brainstorms. Will help maintain log of all incoming projects and shadow development executives on projects.
Factual Development Intern: The series development team is on the front lines of finding our next big hit. By taking pitches from the production community, fleshing out projects for greenlight, and determining as well as disseminating the current mandate, our team dictates the future of discovery programming.
Looking for an enthusiastic intern with a passion for unscripted content and the creative process. They would participate in team meetings getting exposure to the latest pitches and assist the team with research needs as they arise. These needs typically have to do with current trends, and pop culture so having a keen eye for what's generating traction in unscripted as well as entertainment at large is a huge plus. Bandwidth permitting, we would also love for our intern to do a project of their choosing as a culmination of their semester. In the past interns have pitched their own projects, created a talent database, or done a report on a topic of their choosing. Our hope is that this person becomes familiar with the process of getting a show greenlit and has a sense for the industry landscape.
