We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to provide leadership for new direct to consumer subscription services being developed at Discovery, Inc. . Reporting to the VP Product, Commerce & Monetization you will be tasked with leading product initiatives focused on growing our direct to consumer subscription business.
The ideal candidate is customer obsessed, collaborative, and data driven. The candidate is a highly effective communicator and can build trust with all areas of the business. We value passionate product management that drives with discipline and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
1. Product leadership for subscription initiatives from definition through delivery and iterative improvements focused on growing our overall number of subscribers
2. Discover opportunities worth pursuing through rapid experimentation via product discovery and design thinking methods
3. Identify and map customer goals, values and needs more than “wants” or “table stakes”
4. Collaborate and coordinate with engineering, design, editorial, marketing, product leadership, analytics and insight teams on objectives and business requirements
5. Author use cases and user stories and build shared understanding of the problem & solution spaces.
6. Assist and manage planning and prioritization to ensure maximum value is delivered, operating with a sense of urgency
7. Partner with other product teams to streamline system integrations and enhance existing business processes
8. Prioritize features and enhancements in story backlog
9. Synthesize market changes and technology improvements into actionable improvements through market research and competitive landscape and offerings
10. Work closely with our partnership and distribution teams, ie Apple, Google, Roku
Requirements
* 5 years of experience in digital product management with a track record of delivering subscriber based consumer products that customers love
* Deep understanding of ecommerce and other digital commerce flows and payment processing, including hands on experience developing products with multi-platform subscriptions (IAP, Web)
* Exceptional analytical skills, with experience analyzing and rapidly conducting experiments to optimize product conversion
* Experience product managing applications across a wide variety of platforms including web, mobile devices, and OTT video devices such as AppleTV, Roku, and FireT
* Deep empathy for customers and other humans
* Experience using JIRA and other product and project management tools
* Deep knowledge of commerce technology vendors and ecosystems
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong experience with analytics and user research to drive decisions
* Ability to make quick decisions to solve complex technical and operational challenges
* Experience with product discovery, design thinking, lean product a plus
* Experience as a designer, engineer, data analyst or user researcher a plus
* Operates with a bias to action
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
