About the Role:
The Specialist will be responsible for a wide array of content scheduling functions across digital platforms including, but not limited to, Video on Demand (VOD), TV Everywhere (TVE), Download to Own (DLTO), Subscription VOD (SVOD) and OTT. As part of an integral team in the Discovery Digital organization, the Specialist will drive non-linear distribution across multiple networks and partnerships ensuring clear and accurate presentation of Discovery programming. The ideal candidate is consumer obsessed, eager to learn and share new ideas, exceptionally organized, technically competent, and passionate about digital distribution.
The Specialist will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic, passionate and incredibly talented creative team to launch a new subscription-based streaming & interactive experience from the ground up.
Responsibilities:
• Schedule high volumes of Discovery programming across non-linear distribution channels for multiple networks
• Partner with network teams as digital distribution conduit for network content
• Ensure clear consumer presentation of Discovery programming using both internal and external systems
• Check distribution rights for high volumes of programming across multiple platforms
• Generate accurate communications detailing rights restricted content for linear streams across TVE and OTT platforms
• Create weekly avails across platforms
• Coordinate and deliver show artwork for multi-platform use
• Serve as key POC for assigned partners, strengthening existing relationships
• Support launches of new distribution partnerships
• Enthusiastically contribute to the achievement of Digital and corporate revenue goals at every opportunity
Requirements:
• 3 years of experience in TV programming or scheduling, digital media, production/post-production, or other similar role
• BA/BS required or equivalent combination of skills
• Outstanding skills in Microsoft Excel required
• Experience with Broadview or other programming/scheduling tool a plus
• Familiar with Adobe creative suite, particularly Photoshop
• Independently motivated, resilient, energized by fast paced Digital Media environment
• Extremely organized, with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong ability to multitask and demonstrate agility
• Outstanding verbal & written communication skills
• Collaborative work style with a proven ability to develop strong relationships
• Strong digital media industry landscape knowledge and technical savvy desired
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
