Software Development Engineer II (Automation)
General Summary
We are excited to be recruiting the new opportunity of Automation Software Development Engineer to join DPlay. As the Automation Software Development Engineer, you will work within a team of Test Engineers to ensure that our DPlay apps across Web, iOS, Android and Connected Devices are bug-free and successful in meeting quality specifications and goals set out by the business and expected by our customers.
You will also collaborate with the Product and Software Development Teams, ensuring new features have test cases available and app releases have no defects in them. You will be the last line of defence and be empowered to keep our quality bar high. In addition, you will use your knowledge and professional experience to influence technical decisions regarding testing tools and processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Write effective test plans, user stories and test strategies, keeping within agreed timescales and budgets
• Execution of test plans prioritised based on an assessment of risk, budgets and timescales
• Completion of regular regression tests
• Troubleshoot issues and assign to the appropriate colleague whenever possible
• Record accurate documentation on issues found
• Proactively communicate on the status of projects and issues to relevant staff and departments
• Provide training for staff on completing QA requirement forms
• Contribute to best practice on the implementation of testing
• Supervise QA contractors
• Sign off content for broadcast, in doing so verifying support for target browsers, devices and hardware
• Work closely with other Developer in Test to define and verify automated tests
• Explore opportunities for efficiencies in automation processes.

• Ability to manage multiple workloads
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced collaborative environment
• Excellent knowledge of QA practices and relevant software
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to present complex subjects in laypersons’ terms
• Abreast of relevant industry and technological developments with a basic understanding of web technologies.
