Full Time Job
The TLCme.com Site Director is responsible for managing and publishing convergent and lifestyle-adjacent editorial content across both flat and video mediums. This role will be tasked with increasing audience reach, launching page-view turning experiences and creating content and commerce experiences that are directly tied to revenue and growth. He or she will report to the Vice President, Multi-Platform and Digital Media.
This role manages a direct report plus a small team of freelancers in order to create high-quality editorial content that helps to enhance the TLC brand and extend the reach of TLCme.com. He or she will work closely with the entire digital team, including the video team and social media team, to create short form social content that can be amplified across multiple platforms. A love of all things wedding, parenting, family and most-importantly of the TLC brand, is paramount.
This position can sit in both New York City, New York or Silver Spring, Maryland.
Responsibilities
1. Increase TLCme audience reach by 15% through SEO strategy and content optimization
2. Develop and maintain TLCme editorial calendar to align with seasonal and network priorities
3. Guide TLC digital team’s transition into Asana project management tool and AEM content management system
4. Lead and implement editorial strategy for sold integration campaigns
5. Launch new page-view driving initiatives including a TLCme newsletter and Apple News presence
6. Recruit new digital contributors to tap into new audiences and grow TLCme social followings
7. Work with social team and talent management to support linear talent via personal vlogs, blog posts, talent-curated shoppable content on TLCme
8. Support linear priorities with complementary TLCme content
9. Enhance digital giveaways and sweeps with sponsored editorial content on TLCme
10. Work with commerce task force on new saleable products like buying guides and shopping content
11. Work with commerce team on identifying new affiliate partners that are complementary to TLCme and foster unique TLCme shopping experiences
12. Work with content marketing to manage and streamline TLCme ad sales integrations in Asana for efficiency and transparency across stakeholders
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in New Media, Journalism, Communication or related field
* 6-8 years’ experience in digital media, editorial or equivalent
* At least five years in a management capacity
* Experience with entertainment-adjacent content and network talent preferred
* Proficiency with MS Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite
* Must be willing to be present in both New York City and Silver Spring HQs
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
