Position Title: Senior Commercial Manager
Division: CEEMCA – Central Eastern Europe, Mediterranean and Central Asia

Remit: Czech Republic and Slovakia
Department: Commercial Development CEEMCA
Reports to: Senior Director Distribution and Business Development
Type of employment: 12-month contract
General Summary:
This is a key strategic position responsible for building our business, delivering revenue targets (Discovery, Eurosport) in the remits, with a primary focus on developing newrevenue streams. The position holder will also be the Companies ‘eyes and ears’ on the markets it is responsible for, to ensure future opportunities are capitalized upon
Responsibilities
Distribution Sales:
• Partner with Senior Commercial Director in preparation of the Commercial Development Strategy and Distribution plan;
• Drive the implementation,continuous review and adaptation of the agreed plan, whilst managing all technical and administrative aspects of the existing business.
• To be fully conversant with customer performance, proactively identifying issues and opportunities and taking action to address them;
• To be fully conversant with competitor structure and approach, highlighting and acting upon areas of weakness and strength;
• To ensure all internal and external communications mirror the appropriate Discovery image and brand;
• Lead or participate in individual and/or team project work, as required;
• Responsible for the management and development of a team, fostering a business development mindset and can-do approach.
• Proactively partner with Senior Commercial Director on development of new business ;
About you
Manage Strategy:
• Has knowledgeable strategic thinking skills, as to manage and develop a portfolio of existing and new potential partners, within the dynamic of the designated markets.
Manage Deals & Clients:
• Drives the implementation of the strategy, within the existing portfolio of partners.
• Works with Senior Commercial Director to set revenue budgets and develop business initiatives that require a creative approach in an uncertain business landscape;
• Has the mindset and confidence to make calculated decisions, while operating under limited supervision;Manages key clients, regulatory bodies, relationships with associations and potential partners – building the image of Discovery and its brands across the designated markets;
• Takes accountability for all clients in the remit;
• Proactively finds new business, new clients and leverages existing assets;
• Has a client-centered approach consults, actively listens and develops convincing proposals to existing and future business partners.

• Has financial acumen: understands financial reporting and is able toaccurately forecast;

Requirements
• • Strong people management skills;
• Proven track record in business development and having a business development Mindset
• Strategic thinking around managing and developing a portfolio of clients in one or several markets;
• Knowledge of pay-tv, Content distribution and monetization
• Ability to travel at short notice,
• Multi-territory experience is a plus;
• Czech/ Slovak and English fluent.
