The Scheduling Supervisor, Reloads and Re-versions will oversee and drive the continual optimization of the production workflows and deliverables Discovery Creative & Production. The Scheduling Supervisor will be responsible for addressing all changes, adjustments and key milestones for delivery of all 600-800 hours of re-versioned content within the group. This position requires anticipation of departmental needs and priorities as it relates to continual timeline changes and provide new employees with job training as well as onboarding of freelance producers, production managers, associate producers (AP), editors and others. The position also requires the skills of a producer to step in when other team members or the workload demands.
The Scheduling Supervisor, Reloads and Re-versions will be responsible for the oversight of the entire production timeline and master schedule for all content production within the group. Including but not limited to, asset procurement, post production, graphics, audio, and deliverables on multiple Discovery platforms. In this role this individual will work closely with Executive Producer, Supervising Producer, and all producer /AP teams whether freelance or staff to ensure all projects stay on track and hit key milestones in three US domestic locations, Knoxville, Silver Spring and New York with the potential of LA.
Based in Knoxville, TN this position will coordinate the activity of all individuals working on production scheduling needs and will liaise directly with any production managers (PMs) on live action deliverables; media managers on post specifications for live action shoots and technical teams on final deliveries whether broadcast, digital or OTT.
Key to this role is organizational skills as well as detail oriented logical problem solving. The Scheduling Supervisor will also be responsible for handling all reports, updates and financial documentation needed for ongoing budget tracking and management.
Responsibilities
1. Define best production practices, synchronize and standardize workflows, tools and communication among multiple teams based in Knoxville, New York, Los Angeles and Silver Spring, MD as well as at the networks to ensure the highest quality and production efficiency.
2. Responsible for the day-to-day schedule management for production of reloads and re-versions.
3. Coordinate with production managers on all accounting and budget allocation for reload & re-version production at Discovery Creative & Production.
4. Onboard all freelance and contractor staff for reloads and re-version production
5. Lead daily production meetings with department, troubleshoot workflow issues, and collaborate on creative solutions
6. Work alongside the EP and Supervising Producer to serve as POC for all network representatives in order to solidify requests for content creation
7. Work in concert with EP of reloads and re-versions and other staff to create accurate budget estimates for productions
8. Maintain schedules for productions in reload and re-version pipeline.
9. Along with the PM, as needed, handle financial matters with outside vendors.
10. In concert with PM, check all vendor invoices and approve for payment.
11. Work with PM providing information on the handling of all billing, and cost accounting for projects flowing through reloads and re-versions pipeline.
12. Generate the weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for EP and senior executives to track departmental progress.
13. Work directly with EP to assure all Discovery systems are addressed and all work is directly in synch with programs, policies and planning for the broader team
14. Provide consistent production support to EP and producers on the team managing overall budget and spending and keep them apprised of all projects in production, CW staff being on boarded, and status of actuals for all completed projects.
15. Serve as producer on projects, when necessary.
16. This position reports directly to the EP of Reloads and Re-versions.
Requirements
* Must have 7-10 years related ops management and combined production experience.
* In depth knowledge of television and radio production.
* Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment and able to work on multiple projects, in various stages of production, simultaneously.
* Ability to perform under pressure.
* Experience with all DCI systems and some knowledge of production accounting.
* Network/broadcast production experience required.
* Integrity, strong organizational skills and attention to detail a must.
* Outside Production Company or Ad Agency managerial experience required.
* Proficiency with Excel, Word, Adobe. Proficiency with PowerPoint and Google Docs preferred, but not required.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, and acute attention to detail.
* Television production, writing, and post-production experience required.
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
