The Direct Response Sales Planner is a key role on Discovery’s Advertising Sales Team, responsible for developing proposals for Account Executives and assisting with developing presentations.
Responsibilities
1. Assist Direct Response Account Executive in the coordination and execution of short form media schedules.
2. Maintain Sales Assistant responsibilities and provide coverage for other Sales Planners and team’s Sales Assistant when needed.
3. Cultivate massive Direct Response related inquiries.
4. Assist in execution of media schedules and maximization of commercial inventory.
5. Assist Account Executive in the review of on-air materials in regard to standards and practices.
6. Assist in the resolution of tape discrepancies and viewer complaints.
7. Maintain advertiser lists.
8. Generate weekly & monthly revenue analyses reports.
9. Act as liaison between Accounting and Commercial Operations departments.
10. Heavy client contact.
11. Work directly with Finance to coordinate and maintain all cash in advance payments for DCI.
12. Monitor any discrepancies and disseminate OOPS forms.
13. Perform other related duties, as assigned
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study
* Minimum of 2 years experience in advertising business
* Strong analytical skills, phone skills, computer literacy, and letter writing skills are needed.
* Ability to follow through independently on assigned tasks, organizational skills & attention to detail, a must.
* 1-2 years of direct response media experience preferred.
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States
