Responsibilities
The QA Manager will lead the quality assurance for our in-house OTT digital video platform. Working with cross-functionally with key stakeholders, you will provide stable application environments for the user community, own QA testing for all infrastructure changes, application updates and system configuration in support of continuous business changes.
• Liaise with internal and external teams to identify requirements and determine test strategy
• Generate testing scripts for both SIT and E2E testing using development documentation and Product Owner requirements
• Hands on role in conducting manual testing, leading a team of QA Testers by example
• Estimate, prioritise, plan and coordinate testing activities
• Thoroughly identify, record, document and track bugs
• Review functional and design specifications and map them to test cases
• Deliverables including daily/weekly test progress reports, test cases, tests plans, bug tracking, UAT reports, gathering test evidence, post-deployment validation reports to Management
• Assess the impact and risks of new functionalities introduced
• Conduct defect management, attending defect triage meetings
Requirements
Proven experience as a QA Manager in a high performing Software Development Team, with at least 5 years’ experience in a Software QA role
Able to build a testing strategy and build processes and team to deliver strategy
Experience in the digital broadcasting domain, digital video playback, and CDN Paths.
• Experience of testing Cloud components (AWS Media Service) and API code
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Good experience with data migration testing, backend testing in SQL environment, including validating stored procedures, jobs, and triggers.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/SCRUM, and Waterfall methodologies
• Ability to translate technical requirements into Test Plans
• Must be analytical and methodical with a have a keen eye for detail
• Experience in Quality Management software and processes
• Ability to supervise and provide guidance to a team of QA Testers
• Ability to effectively coordinate multiple efforts simultaneously.
• Experience with GitHub, JIRA, Bugzilla, HP ALM, SOAP UI, RESTful APIs
• Advanced MS Excel skills for data analysis, pivot tables, reporting
• Understanding of JSON and XML
• Excellent team player
Desirable
• Experience and/or understanding of E2E digital broadcasting architecture
• ISTQB or similar certification in Testing
• Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering
• Non-functional/ performance testing experience
• Proposed and deployed automated testing workflows
• Basic exposure to Python/Selenium or other automation tools
