Overview
TLC has an exciting opportunity for a Publicity Coordinator in the Los Angeles office. The position will support the publicity efforts of the PR/Comms team and the network’s original series, including the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, Say Yes to the Dress, Dr. Pimple Popper, Little People Big World, I Am Jazz and more. The TLC PR Coordinator will oversee the administrative functions for the team in addition to contributing to new/ongoing publicity campaigns.
Responsibilities
1. Researching, compiling and disseminating daily press clip packet
2. Building and refining existing media lists
3. Assisting with press strategy and execution
4. Drafting press releases and other collateral materials
5. Identifying show clips for promotion and editing select video assets for press use
6. Cataloging and managing exclusive video assets for press purposes
7. Assisting publicists in pitching talent interviews
8. Drafting and coordinating talent travel/press junket itineraries
9. Maintaining and developing department outreach materials (e.g., press web, press lists, boiler plate)
10. Handling the timely submission of TLC series for various industry awards
11. Serving as point person for materials requests from other departments and business units
12. Handling general administrative duties, including scheduling, filing, creating agendas, meeting prep, maintaining internal organizational systems and processes, etc.
13. Assisting with special projects as assigned
Qualifications
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills
• Attention to detail is essential to the job
• Good time management skills
• Must be able to multi-task under pressure, prioritize needs/demands and meet tight deadlines
• Must be proactive, flexible and able to adapt in a rapidly changing environment with a can-do attitude
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of copyediting/proofreading
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with Adobe suite
• Knowledge of Cision, MuckRack and other PR databases
• Strong interest in working in television publicity
• 1-2 years of experience in communications or public relations
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
