Discovery Inc. is currently searching for a Public Relations Coordinator to support our team in New York.
Responsibilities
1. Asset creation, collection and organization for select departmental priorities (episode descriptions, captions and photo coordination, press mailers and promotional collateral to name a few)
2. Assists with weekly clip report and other pertinent press communications
3. Generates monthly highlights press releases for both Food Network & Cooking Channel Develops/maintains media lists and conduct media follow-up for specified priorities
4. Maintains and manages network press sites including updating show/talent info and refreshing available assets as needed
5. Develops support materials for network talent including one sheets, bios, and select show releases; write print materials, including press releases, press kits, etc.
6. Executes PR tactics including SMTs, RMTs, key events, and appearances as part of PR team
7. Fulfills incoming tape, artwork and materials requests as needed/assigned
8. Provides national and local market press support for select priorities, working closely with PR Managers/Director/VP
9. Researches and updates department press lists and editorial calendars
10. Support the updating of network information within listings for consumer and trade publications
11. Coordinate talent relations schedules as directed (interacting or executing the likes of: requestor information, talent team outreach and follow-thru, vanities books, itinerary & travel booking)
Requirements
* 2 to 3 years in public relations or related.
* Must be able to manage multiple projects, as well as have a solid understanding of editorial and media relations.
* Previous agency or television experiences a plus.
* Excellent writing, proofing and editing skills a must.
* Bachelor Degree preferred, Public Relations/Communications
* Must be well-organized and possess the ability to handle a multitude of projects simultaneously.
* Detail-oriented, flexibility to work on multiple projects at once.
* Has ability to take on more responsibility as the departments evolves/grows.
* Ideal candidate must effectively troubleshoot with an eye toward anticipating, identifying and forming strategic solutions.
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
