Position Summary
Work within a collaborative, team-oriented Production Management environment to create, organize, and execute contract compliance elements. Manage and track a high volume of projects, primarily from a financial perspective, communicating any adverse impact of production & delivery changes to all internal stakeholders. Participate in departmental initiatives/taskforces. This position is based in Los Angeles. The position does not offer a relocation package.
Key Responsibilities
• Finalize payment schedules and other contract exhibit documentation, obtaining Network Production and Production Management team approval
• Track financial & production elements of originals, co-productions, acquisitions and repackages from inception to delivery and acceptance for all DCI program materials
• Supervise all payments to external producers, monitoring contractual milestones and releasing payments through SAP Project Systems
• Coordinate with Network reps and Production Management teams, providing status of vendors’ contractual obligations, to facilitate execution and payment of production contracts
• Liaise with Finance and Programming on the management of programming cashflow
• Coordinate with Talent Management and Network Production teams to facilitate execution and payment of talent contracts
• Perform any change management tasks related to financials throughout production cycle including, but not limited to, overage documentation & payment processing
• Supervise the review and delivery of program materials for contract compliance
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of Media Production experience, at a network or production company
• Finance or Production Accounting background strongly preferred
• Solid knowledge of production logistics, rights issues, and current industry standard practices
• A self-starter who can prioritize duties among multiple concurrent projects and across managers
• Strong project management, interpersonal and writing skills
• Proficiency with common production & finance applications such as Excel & SAP strongly preferred. Ability to quickly learn Discovery proprietary systems.
• Candidate must have the ability to work with and maintain confidential information
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
