Media Technologist – Cloud Automation is a leading member of the Broadcast Engineering team in Sterling, VA. This position will focus on testing of new workflows and technologies as they relate to linear playout. Focus will also be given to existing workflows and technologies, and how they can be improved. The ability to understand the complete technical system is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with the Broadcast Engineering team to understand the current technical needs and balance with future needs.
2. Work closely with management to determine priorities relating to development and refinement of workflows and technologies.
3. Must be able to handle high pressure multi-tasking situations.
4. Must have strong leadership skills and the willingness to lead by example.
5. Excellent customer service, client management and communication skills required.
6. Excellent problem solving and organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks are a must.
7. Create and maintain standard operating procedures and system documentation for all broadcast systems.
8. Support other Media Engineering responsibilities and duties as assigned (i.e. support of front line duties)
9. Engage and assist in all learning opportunities within the department. Continued development and constant collaboration is key to our team’s success.
Requirements
* Ability to understand signal and file flow in a multi-channel environment and broadcast operations.
* Knowledge of broadcast automation systems. iTX, Mediator and Pharos a plus.
* A minimum of five years’ experience maintaining broadcast television or production equipment.
* Strong understanding of IT technologies. Experience in AWS, Solarwinds, Cisco, Isilon, HP, Windows OS, VM’s and SQL a plus. A and N certifications are also a plus.
* Strong IT skills required including Microsoft Office programs (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Ability to lift heavy equipment as needed (50 lbs.).
* This position is considered an essential position. This means that during times of inclement weather, emergencies, or when access to the workplace may be impeded, that employees in this position are expected to report to work to support business continuance, unless otherwise instructed by his/her direct manager.
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
