Responsibilities
Your New Role...
The CNN Business Development & Strategy team is responsible for developing new revenue streams and establishing growth strategies across CNN's digital properties, including on-platform distribution (CNN, CNN en Espanol) and off-platform distribution (social media, FAST channels, news aggregators). We work cross-functionally across the entire digital business, partnering closely with editorial, off-platform programming, video, product, ops and legal stakeholders. The Business Development & Strategy Intern will support the team on new initiatives and deal flow. They will also dive into and deliver a growth strategy project to senior CNN Digital leadership.
Qualifications
Your Role Accountabilities…
• Support of revenue-generating partnerships, including pipeline development, sourcing (inbound, outbound, long-term strategic), deal viability evaluation, business term negotiations, and deal operationalizing.
• Ideate, execute and present on a digital growth strategy project to senior leadership
• Work closely with internal editorial and programming teams to establish and execute on additional high-priority CNN strategic initiatives.
• Strategic analysis and support for verticals across CNN Digital (e.g., CNN Politics, CNN Business, CNN Originals, CNN International, CNN Health, CNN Travel, CNN Climate).
• Provide thought partnership and advisory support for GMs and editorial directors across CNN verticals, with a focus on distributing CNN content to strategic endpoints and audiences, with a focus on alignment with CNN's long-term strategic priorities.
Qualifications and Experience…
• Must be currently enrolled as a student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
• Must be a first year MBA candidate
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States
• Business development, strategy, management consulting, or investment banking experience.
• Ability to think strategically and to translate ideas into action.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to facilitate and communicate cross-functionally to ensure consistent development and execution of strategies.
• Creative problem solver that can proactively identify problems, pull together data and people to identify causes and develop solutions.
• Strong attention to detail.

• Solid knowledge of PC/Mac, Microsoft Office (for analysis, research, and presentation creation), specifically PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
• Highly organized and self-directed; able to keep on an assigned track with minimal direction
• Strong presentation development skills (design and verbal)
• Solid knowledge of social media with clear understanding of marketing principles
• Knowledge of basic research methods and strategies preferred.
About the Internship Program...
• Our Summer 2023 program is a 11-12 Week Internship that will run from Monday, June 5th through Friday, August 25th, 2023
• Full time-schedule (35-40 hours/week) required
• Company-issued computer or secured remote access provided for the duration of the internship program
• Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive salary. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for roles that will be performed in New York City. The rate listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Rate: $45 per hour USD.
