The Manager, Media Strategy & Analytics oversees the day-to-day of all on-air and non-linear promotion to drive ratings and streams for assigned networks. Managing media strategists and coordinators, the Manager’s decisions regarding daily/weekly/quarterly media plans are driven by the agreed upon promotion strategies of each network and bridge the gap between the strategic demands and the requirements thereof for flawless execution on-air and in-platform.
Functioning as both strategic thinker, and man-on-the-ground logistics coordinator, the Manager is part of the Media Strategy & Analytics (MSA) department and reports to the Director, Media Strategy & Analytics. Within the MSA department, s/he works closely with colleagues from the paid media, cross channel and data/tools disciplines. With Marketing & Creative as the core constituents, s/he also interfaces with key contacts from other departments including Research, Digital, Commercial Operations, Media Logistics, and IT, among others, to ensure promotion execution is in line with agreed upon strategies.
Responsibilities
1. Develop strategic media approach
• Lead strategic conversations with network partners to identify quarterly priorities
• Drive recommendations based on past learnings
• Oversee corporate asset requests
2. Draft quarterly media plans to be vetted with Director
• Determine investment levels
• Interface with network research, programming, and marketing to develop strategic targets for each campaign
• Analyze audience targets sizing
• Work with network research to maximize linear air
3. Oversee detailed campaign planning
• Audience targets finalized
• Deliverables determined
• Cutsheets distributed
• Graphic strategy developed
4. Lead assessments of inventory impact
• Identify impact of sales optimization on promo strategies
• Manage inventory requests including private labels, digital, sales
5. Oversee strategic execution of campaigns
• Ensure promo and graphic log production meets deadlines
• Implement log adjustments and coverage as necessary
• Ensure non-linear log execution meets deadlines
6. Lead weekly meetings with network marketing teams to discuss on-going and upcoming campaign strategies
• Provide recommendations based on real time learnings from TiVo
• Update network teams on M360 initiatives
7. Lead development of post analysis for on-air and non-linear campaigns
• Oversee data gathering and slide development for all campaigns
• Ensuring that the ‘story’ is clear in presentations to marketing
• Develop key takeaways and recommendations
8. Lead non-linear strategy and oversee implementation
• Drive development of complex targeting in non-linear space
• Manage guaranteed inventory
• Lead meetings with GO marketing
• Assist in developing best practices
9. Drive development of network strategist/coordinator
• Lead, motivate, inspire, and coach direct reports in order to achieve business goals and address their individual developmental needs
• Provide feedback on a regular basis
10. Lead ad hoc projects on any network as necessary
Requirements
* Several years relevant experience in Media Strategy within an agency and/or television community
* Candidate must be extremely detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines with a sense of urgency when applicable
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Self-starter, highly motivated, take initiative and have a positive and collaborative demeanor
* Excellent presentation skills with the ability to effectively sell-in material to internal and external network partners and other stakeholders
* Ability to work under pressure with continuous ability to reprioritize, applying media thinking and “best practice” knowledge to all areas of media planning with minimal guidance
* Understanding of Nielsen ratings
* Proficient in Microsoft Office systems, specifically in Excel and PowerPoint
* College degree required
* Must have legal right to work in the United States
