The Manager Broadcast Operations will be responsible for preparing, configurating and ensuring that the broadcast operations equipment and staff of the new local Eurosport Germany production facilities in the greater Munich area is fully operational for live sports production whilst adhering to given deadlines and requirements. The position requires a broad technical understanding of state-of-the-art Broadcast Video-, Audio-, Cloud-, AR/VR- and IP-Technologies and years of experience in the field of remote and traditional live studio-/post production and playout of sports events.
This position is based on a Monday-Sunday working pattern, 40h a week and includes 7 day per week on-call status to respond to broadcast emergencies.

Responsibilities
• End-to-end operational and technical support for all Eurosport Germany LIVE sports productions operated in the new production facilities.
• Liaise closely with Eurosport Germany production, the local resource booking and the relevant central Eurosport broadcast engineering and operation departments.
• Supervise and operate the network control system-based configuration of the audio, video, graphics, editing, studio and playout equipment in the local production facilities (PCRs, SCRs, Studio-/post production).
• Show significant understanding of video and audio control operations and be able to operate as a Vision or alternatively Audio Engineer.
• Fault find and coordination of the maintenance of all broadcast and IP equipment in the local production facilities.
• Lead and supervise a team of Video, Audio, studio-/post production and playout operators.
Requirements
• BSc/BA degree (Broadcast Engineering or Media Technology) or comparable professional qualification paired with working experience in the area broadcast production, operations and play out of live sports events.
• Experience and understanding of cloud broadcasting, remote and traditional live production and the associated processes for producing sports events.
• Up to date knowledge regarding UHD and HD Video-/Audio Broadcast formats and the principles of its transmission and file encoding formats including file transfer mechanisms.
• Demonstrable knowledge of relevant broadcast equipment such as video switchers (GV), studio cameras, studio lightning, audio switchers (Lawo), communication systems (Riedel), broadcast servers (EVS, GV Live touch), editing (Avid, Adobe CC, ProTools), graphics (VIZrt), AR/VR systems, MAM/playout automation systems (GV products), and IP con-/distribution (Evertz, Nevion).
• Familiar with relevant software such as: CMS (Content Explorer), MAM (GV products), program scheduling (Whats ON), network control systems (ATOS BNCS, Video I-Path, data miner), scheduling software (XYtech media pulse).
• Network and IP infrastructure knowledge including a good understanding of the latest IP standards (SMPTE 2022-6/7, 2110, 2059, AES67 and Dante).
• Used to working under pressure in a fast-paced live TV production environment.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, ability to communicate clearly and to effectively prioritise and execute tasks to meet timelines.
• Excellent English and German communication in spoken and written.
