This is an exciting opportunity to join the media research team that supports advertising sales efforts for Discovery, Inc. This Manager role will be responsible for supporting the internal client group that oversees key company sales opportunities such as the Discovery Premiere offering, multiplatform sponsorships and other unique services.
In addition, this Manager will be involved in strategic analyses that benefit the larger Ad Sales Research department, such as competitive ad revenue & spending assessments, evaluation of new viewing datasets, and reporting on changes in the overall US video viewing landscape.
This position calls for a candidate who is has in-depth knowledge of the US linear TV landscape & ratings methodologies (including strong knowledge as to how the broadcast business model & measurement differs from ad supported cable) but is also a self-starter who is comfortable serving as the lead researcher for a key internal client group.
Responsibilities
1. Initiative: The individual should be comfortable serving as the day-to-day lead contact for an internal client group and is able to simultaneously manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines.
2. Creativity: This individual will be called upon to create unique analyses without a predefined template to provide meaningful research that helps to explain the novel offerings to advertisers.
3. Teamwork: We are looking an individual comfortable with interacting daily with co-workers from Ad Sales, Research, Finance, and external vendors.
Requirements
* 4-7 years relevant ad sales research experience at a broadcast network, ad-supported cable network or ad agency.
* Thorough knowledge of Nielsen data and reporting systems; such as TV Toolbox, Arianna, Lake 5 Media, Star Media.
* Experience with related ad sales research tools such as SMI, Kantar, Nielsen AdIntel, MRI and Simmons.
* Experience with digital measurement tools (comScore, Nielsen Digital Content Ratings, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) considered a plus.
* Experience with advanced data analytic tools (Tableau, Power BI, SPSS, SAS) considered a plus.
* Bachelor’s degree in a related field
* Must have legal right to work in the United States.
