Thank you for your interest in an internship at Discovery Inc. We have decided to put our summer 2020 internship program on hold. What you need to know:
• This summer, our 12 week semester will be held from June 1st-August 21st 2020.
• Our internships are paid opportunities. Credit is not required; however, we will provide documentation if necessary.
• The?application deadline is March 20th.?After this date, we cannot guarantee your application will be reviewed for the position.
• We do not require a cover letter. Please demonstrate your passion for the position through your resume.
Interviewing will take place from February through April. A Discovery Intern team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
Responsibilities
Our IT & Technical Operations team is responsible for outreach and education to the entire global company. We provide training on all corporate IT tools used by every employee, which includes creating and maintaining technical documentation and how to videos, as well as offering onsite and virtual instructor-led training. We are responsible for marketing our technology tool launches to help with change management as well as tool adoption.
As an IT Training Intern, your adventure could lead you to work on projects and tasks such as:
• Learning the basics of technical writing and helping in the development of training materials for new tools launching during the internship
• Testing and updating articles in our Knowledge base
• Learning the process of creating how to videos using our video editing tools
• Developing new videos to add to our library
• Innovating new ways to help market and drive adoption of our tools
• Getting involved with campaigns that are underway during the internship program.
Requirements
* Must be currently enrolled as a student (proof of enrollment will be required if selected for an internship)
* Must be a rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student
* Must have at least a 3.0 GPA
* Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
* Experience with the Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as well as video editing software preferred
Please note this position is located in KNOXVILLE. If selected for an opportunity, interns are responsible for securing their own housing.
